I didn't know I could pack things that fast. Now I have to wait for 40+ minutes for my ride.

Of course I was caught off guard.

Suddenly window shopping sounded stupid.
Suddenly I found myself back in the ER, pacing back and forth to kill the tension.
Suddenly another sibling is in the OR again.
Suddenly the blue turtleneck top I bought from the rummage had a purpose.

But somehow there's peace in me, and I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. That I confidently know she'll make it. That when I return, I can go to sleep because she's recovering.

Somehow I just know.

I think I heard Him whisper that to me.

My limited vocabulary fails to describe what I feel right now. Maybe I could just settle for "mabigat na pakiramdam---literally." Or maybe "like blood stopped running in my veins." Or maybe...

Okay, Mom just put on a thermometer ten seconds ago and diagnosed me with fever.

Eurgh. Kaya pala kanina pa ko nilalamig sa kotse. Pero how could that be? I ate dinner naman with passion (yeah, like two servings of rice kaya yun). Okay naman ako the whole day today. We even RRLed ourselves. What could go possibly wrong?

Get away, sickness. I have lots to do for the next three days. Yes, 122 groupmates, I will go to school tomorrow no matter what.

...ay kung bakit gumagamit pa ng Internet Explorer 6 ang Physics 10 prof ko samantalang pwede namang Firefox 2 or 3.

Sa ganda ng laptop-slash-tablet niya, IE ang gamit niya? Like hello. Like crap. C'mon, man! The innovations of IE 6 or 7 is soooo FF1.

Bleah.

Kailangan ko pa tuloy magdownload ng IE 6 SP1 mabasa ko lang yung lecture namin in .XPS format. Define hassle.

If the US Declaration of Independence were drafted in this century, would it have turned out the same? Haha. Anyway, I nicked this from one of my favorite blogs, A List of Things Thrown Five Minutes Ago, posted by Isaac_Spaceman:

Strike "human?" Doesn't add anything. I think your shift key is sticking again.

One person? Or just "people"? I like it better with "people," plural -- kind of has that universal relatability thing going for it?

Dropped a word. Another what? "Another people?" That's an awkward construction. Maybe "other people," or if you want to do a callback, "other humans." I like that -- kind of an Oscar Wao geek-cult reference. Very now.

Easy on the sci-fi, though -- we don't want to end up in the genre bins

These are the same thing. Pick one?

This is a little opaque. If you want to move away from the sci-fi, maybe replace the whole paragraph with "Sometimes, when people break up, they should say why." Can you come up with a good anecdote to illustrate this? What did you say to Sally that one time?

Great! I think we have our title. Enemies in War, in Peace Friends will kill on Amazon.

Run-on sentence. Let's not replay that whole fight about commas, please. And fix that shift key!

Anyway, great draft. With some work, this could be huge. If we get it just right I think I can call in a chit and get it in front of Oprah. Take the holiday off, but can you turn around another draft by July 11?

Haven't got much time, pero hey.
  1. I missed last Friday's feature writing class, but Jean told me the prof read my oh-so-lengthy pathetic feature article in class. Reason? Good transitions daw. Ahahaha. Achieve na sa akin yun, especially for someone who had a Chua newswriting experience (plus the internship, which is like J 102 reloaded). Babaw. :)
  2. Trip to Inquirer.net is great. It's a waaay better closure than the last time I was there. I'll post about it sooner; I have a draft ready, but I have a class in an hour so...
  3. Trip's bonus: meeting a relatively famous person. Wala lang, I'm trying not to make a big deal about it. Believe me, I'm trying. Haha!
  4. I saw my brother two weeks ago walking along McDo Panay's parking space. Of all places, dun pa talaga kami nagkita! Last time I saw him before that was New Year's day, so you could just imagine how daldal we were as we updated each other.
  5. And then last week, he was confined naman to the hospital where he had his tonsils removed. A stomach ache gone bad, he had his appendix removed naman. Poor thing, he couldn't laugh or sneeze withougt holding on to his stomach everytime.
  6. Oh noes. Looks like there'd be another strike in Hollywood, this time involving actors. Now everyone's asking if this will be a WGA strike part 2. Magstrike sila for all I care; just give me Grey's Anatomy Season 5 on September, dammit.
